On the early morning of October second at approximately 2:44 am, Riverside Mountain Rescue Unit received a request from Riverside County Sheriff to respond to a lost hiker on the Bump and Grind trail who was hiking the trail since 10:00 pm on October first, but got lost on his way back, along with running out of food and water. At around 4:30 am RMRU broke up into two teams, team 101: Alex and Solan. And team 102: Dave and Matthew. Team 101 was first to reach the subject and concluded that the subject was in stable condition and able to walk out under his own power. Team 102 arrived second with bolt cutters to cut open a chain link fence in order to retrieve and bring the subject back to the command post. At approximately 5:50 am both teams and the subject arrived back to the CP, where Riverside County Fire evaluated the subject.

We want to give a special thanks to the Sensei Porcupine Creek Resort, especially their maintenance department for giving us golf cart rides which made for a much quicker and effective route to our subject.
