RMRU was requested to assist 2 hikers that began their Cactus to Clouds hike early on the morning of November 25th in Palm Springs CA. The subjects made it approximately 1 mile short of Grubbs Notch when they became tired, cold, had no working light source and low cell phone battery power. Subjects requested assistance.

RMRU rescuers became their hike at approximately 0130hrs on November 26th, and after 5 hours of hiking, made it to about a mile below the subjects when RSQ9 was able to launch and airlift both subjects to safety. RMRU members were then also airlifted out.

Palm Springs Fire and AMR were requested to evaluate both patients. Neither patient required any medical care.
