At 04:25am RMRU received a call out for a lost hiker on the Marion Mountain Trail. The request for assistance was sent via Garmin InReach SOS activation. RMRU tried to assist the subject back to the trail via phone with the use of the subjects GPS location. RMRU tried to assist with a self-rescue via phone due to the proximity to the trail and parking lot.
However, the subject felt more comfortable remaining in place until RMRU members arrived. The 3 RMRU members arrived and were on trail hiking by 06:00. We arrived at the subject at approximately 06:20. After locating the subject we gave her water and assisted her back to the trail and down to her vehicle. The subject had no medical issues and was in good spirits.
