RMRU was requested to assist with a search for a missing 11-year-old camper at the Lawler Lodge in Idyllwild, CA. The missing subject was with a group exploring an area away from the lodge when he reportedly fell in the river and hit his head.
The subject appeared fine and decided to walk back to the lodge on his own. Once the group recognized the subject did not make it back, they notified RSO for assistance. RSO requested a drone team, a bloodhound, Park Rangers in the lodge area, and RMRU. The subject was found after approximately 1 hour by RSO patrol deputies about 1 mile from the lodge on the main road.
CalFire and AMR determined the subject was not injured and released the child back to his parents.
RMRU was subsequently canceled prior to arrival on scene.
