On Sunday night June 20th around 8pm, RMRU was called to search for a missing male in fifties. The subject had parked off of a dirt road near Horsethief Canyon in unincorporated Corona. According to his friends, he had gone on what was suppose to be a two hour hike on Saturday but never returned. Several members of RMRU responded along with a Riverside County Bloodhound. The search continued through Sunday night into Monday with limited assets. However, on Tuesday in the early afternoon, the missing man was located near a ravine dehydrated and suffering from exposure. He was brought in from the field and taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries. Assisting on the mission were, CHP, US Forest, San Diego Mountain Rescue, San Bernardino Mountain Rescue and the Riverside Bloodhound. Due to key personell being in Alaska for the annual conference, we would like to thank San Diego Mtn. Rescue for assisting with Command Post duties.
