I got the text a 6:12pm to be ready for a possible mission in the Temecula area. I do a quick check of my gear to make sure all is good to go. The team was activated at 6:45pm for a search at the Dripping Springs campground in Temecula. We would be searching for a 40 year old mother and her 8 year old daughter. They had been missing most of the afternoon.

I hop into the car and I am at the campground about 7:00pm. The sheriff was on the phone with the subject and aviation unit had spotted them. They were about 6 miles up the dripping springs trail and had underestimated the length of the hike. The helicopter was able to find a landing zone and picked up both subjects. They were soon en-route to a Landing Zone at Vail Lake. About 7:45pm the chopper flew overhead and I gave Gwenda a call to let her know everything was wrapped up here. I hopped back into the car for the quick drive home.

RMRU team members present: Kirk Cloyd, Glenn Henderson, Eric Holden, Helene Lohr, Allan Lovegreen, Roger May, Ty Wittersheim, Les Walker, and Gwenda Yates.
