The team received a call to assist Cal Fire with a carry out on the Devil's Slide Trail at 1:30 PM. A 57 year male hiker had a suspected heart attack and did not survive. He had gone for a bike ride the day before and complained of shortness of breath and went for a hike when he fell in the middle of the trail.

When we got to Humber Park we found that he was on the Ernie Maxwell trail and only about a 15 minute hike in from the trail head. We hiked in with the Coroner, waited until their investigation was completed and carried our subject out. Everyone was back at Humber Park by 4:30pm.

RMRU wishes to express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the subject.

RMRU team members present: Lee Arnson, Paul Caraher, Glenn Henderson, Helene Lohr, and Gwenda Yates.
